Have you ever felt like no matter how badly you want to change and no matter how hard you try, you just can’t seem to gain control over your negative thoughts and behaviours? BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT®) is revolutionising mental health because it addresses the problem right where it starts – the neural pathways of your reptilian brain.

Most therapies focus on the development of your conscious mind, which resides in your brain’s neo-mammalian cortex – the area where your freewill, intelligence and abstract thought reside. People can spend months and even years working on this part of the brain, to the point that they seem ready in every way to conquer their anxiety, depression, trauma – whatever it is.

Reptilian Brain

What most people don’t realise is that the negative behaviour is not actually coming from the conscious part of your brain, it’s coming from the reptilian complex – the area that controls survival and fight-or-flight mechanisms. This ancient array of neurons is there to keep you safe and secure, even if your consciousness knows better. Furthermore, outside stimuli gathered by your five senses are all processed by your reptilian brain up to seven seconds before the stimuli ever reach your consciousness.

Once your reptilian complex has been triggered and starts kicking off a survival response, your conscious mind has almost no chance of stopping it. This is why no matter how determined you are not to bite your nails next time you’re nervous, you just can’t help yourself. Or why no matter how much talking and processing you’ve done regarding that traumatic event, you still can’t shake the feeling of terror every time you’re reminded of it.

BrainWorking Recursive Therapy

BWRT® is the only therapy that works within the Reptilian Complex to create new neural pathways that override the old, negative ones. You get to decide how you want to feel and how you want to react in certain situations. Then together we ‘program’ it into your brain using a rapid, revolutionary technique, and the results are almost instant. Forget about spending months or even years of your life in a traditional psychologist’s office, going over the same old things over and over again.

BWRT® is a rapid therapy. Most problems are resolved within a couple of sessions and even complex issues can be resolved within 4-5 sessions. Other forms of therapy can take months or even years to get the same results. Many traditional hypnotherapists are completely shifting their practice to BWRT® because it works faster with permanent results.

The aspect of BWRT® that clients appreciate the most is that it’s a content-free therapy. This means that it’s not necessary for you to talk about anything you would rather not discuss – the practitioner only needs to know how you feel and how you would prefer to feel instead. There’s no need to spend so much of your time and money digging into the past and recounting things you’d prefer to not think about.

So, how does it work again?

BWRT® changes old negative ways of thinking by intercepting the trigger thought at source and creating a new neural pathway so an emotion or event can no longer trigger destructive behaviour patterns or thoughts that hold us back and leave us crippled by our fears and conditioning.

BWRT® is still considered the new kid on the block, having been developed in 2011 by English hypnotherapist Terence Watts, MCGI, with professionals beginning training in the method in 2013. There are just over 2,000 qualified practitioners in the world currently offering BWRT®.

Mr. Watts and his worldwide cohort have been successfully treating anxiety, phobias, PTSD, depression, low confidence and many other psychological issues, to such success that most practitioners have shifted their entire practices to the exclusive use of BWRT®. It’s currently being used in professional athletic training to improve performance, and in intense crime-trauma situations where victims require immediate relief.

BWRT® is an ideal therapy for virtual sessions, so it’s completely accessible no matter where you are. My practice sees only about 30% of clients in-person, the rest visit with me virtually from all over the world via Ascension Therapy Clinic.

Feel free to reach out for a free, no obligation consultation so we can discuss how BWRT® can help you.
